John Piper Swears During Sermon!

When I first heard this sermon I was going to state how much of a Godly man John Piper is. Then I heard him swear. Instantly I lost my sanctification and dropped to my knees and repented for thinking those thoughts about John Piper and for hearing such foul language. I see his message, which started out great, was one that I could not even finish as it was so offensive because of its language! This is proof of the infection of the emerging emergents that are out there swearing in every sermon they do! We can thank Mark Driscoll and Tony Jones for influencing once godly men like John Piper and leading them to lose their sanctification.

Now, before you worry, I confessed for an hour per letter in that four letter word and now I am pure again.

(Oh crap! I just listened to the sermon again as I tried to post it to make sure it works… now I need go and repent again!)

Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God,

    Tyler,

I will be doing a study on “biblical” stoning and that it is still approved of in the NT. If you notice is it in the Levitical Law and that it is reference numerous times in the NT. Because of this I believe it is a “Christian” practise that is being ignore and through true revival need be reinstated as the Truth it is. It would be a great tool in our Truth War arsenal.

    Laodiceans,

I have been concerned about Rev Piper since he wrote a book that included a chapter by Mark Driscoll. Piper is bad news.

  4. Ryan Says:

John Piper is awesome… Don’t give him a bad rap. Overall, he’s a sound teacher.

  5. Paul Whiteley Says:

Your comments on that one word are way over the top. In the UK ‘crap’ isn’t a swear word to most people. To say damn is a swear word in the UK but not in many parts of America. Actually the apostle Paul uses a similar word when he says “I counted all things as crap (slang Greek word for cow manure) compared to the surpassing greatness of knowing Christ…” I don’t like bad language and Christians often use it without thinking, but in defense of Piper I think he is absolutely right in this case.

  6. itodyaso Says:

    Paul,

I was riding very high today in my sanctification until I read the crap… errr the manure you are spreading in that comment. Now I must go back into my prayer closet and purge myself of my sin before God so I can go before the Cross sinless and have to worry Jesus.

You need to be more careful in your language. I mean you sound like an Emergent who cares little about the crap… errr the things you say that could offend American Christians.

You must realize we Americans set the standard of Holiness and Bible interpretation.

So, Paul go and wash your mouth out with some Limey soap and don’t blame your foul language on the Greeks!

    Repent because,

Haha. What a lol. S**t and f**k. You people are hilarious.

  8. itodyaso Says:

I assume you must go to Mark Driscoll’s church. Not much more to say on that.

  9. Mike Says:

Oh no! What have I done? Maybe I could go to my prayer closet and try get my sanctification back. Incidentally, which sermon does this article refer to? (to guard myself from it, of course)

  10. itodyaso Says:

    Mike,

I just left my closet and regained my sanctification after reading your comments. Though Luther often used the “S” word, Since Mark Driscoll used it, it is no longer sanctified.

Now, the sermon in question is the one that in the Youtube player in this post. It seemed obvious to me, yet I guess if you are a Driscollian it may be confusing to you whether what we consider to be swearing is or not.

My prayers are with you as you trust in our GIFT of Discernment.

Now, please observe the rule (which we have not posted yet) about using swear words. Rule one is that if it is in the bible you may use it. You may use though we will edit it if a Reformer or Puritans used the word. Unless Mark Driscoll used the word once. Then that word has lost it’s sanctification. Note if Steve Camp or Ken Silva or Chris Pajak uses the word they are exempt becuase they are ultra sanctified.

    Believe me,

    Todyaso,

I have read a few of your articles and your responses to others comments and am somewhat concerned. You come across as very prideful and self righteous as you continually lose your sanctification and have to go atone for your sins. Please keep in mind that our Lord and Savior was humble and wants us to live in humility as well. I am not trying to bash you but am only a concerned brother in Christ.

    In Him,
    Ryan

    Ryan,

Thank you. We here try hard to please OUR God and are glad when someone like you see OUR fruit. May OUR God bless you as He seems to finally opened your eyes to the “truth” of the Truth Wars” We fight for our Great and Wonderful Leader who wrote the book on it.

I hope you come around more. Thanks again for the compliments. Jesus needs all the help we can give to protect Him, His Truth, and OUR Doctrines. As long as you are humble to OUR doctrines, OUR truth, and OUR God, you too can atone for your own sins It is our “Lordship Salvation” that saves us.

    Grace to you,

    I. Todyaso

    Friends,

I think all of you are going to hell in a handbasket. You are all apostate. Go to the Puritans thou sluggards and learn from their pristine, beautiful uber-santimoni-fied speech. You ought to be ashamed of yourselves. There’s just no room in the church for people who mock The Right Rev Our Father His Holiness Dr Piper II, esq.

You guys need help. I’m going to Ingrid’s where I can get some clean conversation.

  14. Ryan Says:

    Todyaso,

I am not more than concerned I am horified by your own blindess, I pray that MY Lord, Jesus Christ, who has saved such an undeserving sinner as I will open your eyes that you may believe in Him, and truly give your life to Him and his servant and slave. I am a firm believer in Lordship salvation, and Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life, I do all things to His glory and honor to the best of my ability as He has graciously allowed.

In regards to Dr. John MacArthur, I find him to be a wonderful God honoring man who is an amazing teacher and pastor. I would also consider my self a student of his as I have sat under his teaching at both Grace Community Church and at the Master’s college where he is President. I am confident to say that he too, as I am would be horified by the things you say and the way your are disgracing OUR (Dr. MacArthur’s and mine) great Lord.

    Ryan

  15. itodyaso Says:

    Ryan,

I am not even sure where to begin here. You seem all over the map. One moment you are yelling at me I am not saved, then another affirming OUR doctrine of Lordship Salvation. Then you mockingly disgrace OUR great teacher and author guru John MacArthur with my own words.

Shame on you. It seems you are too blind to see anything without someone point it to you. I hope that if you have a dog it is potty trained and can let itself out as I am not sure what you might step in. If you do, maybe you better check your shoes.

I am glad to here Jesus is just the “Lord of your Life” as some people I know claim they died with Christ and no longer live. In fact they claim that they have not life but the Life of Christ inside them.

Can you imagine claiming Jesus lives inside you? What utter nonsense. It is OUR life and God is OUR Lord and the Blessed John MacArthur is our Apostle to lead us out of the manure pasture of un-enlightenment of the enlightenment. I am also glad to see that you understand what John MacArthur teaches is all about doing the best of “your ability” and not leaning o Christ to live and have His being in you to do His Will and Purpose. The last thing we need is to have Christianity be about Jesus and to lose sight that it is all about me and my salvation. Right?

Now the one thing you are lacking though is discernment. Sadly many who follow John MacArthur miss what the Truth War is about. We are to protect Jesus and the Truth of OUR doctrines.

Now aside from all that, YOUR snide and mocker of John MacArthur makes me see that you must be lying. A true follower of John MacArthur would never attack someone else to protect his own reputation. They are the kindest gentlest people and that church has a ever growing reputation of this. In fact John MacArthur would not make any wide generalizations of anyone. We know that the people tend to be like the Master they follow.

Now, you are wasting my time in attack me, though my holiness has risen more by your persecution. I hope only that you grow in “your ability” and earnestly receive the same Grace to you as we give to all people (as long as they agree with us and are saved).

    Even in our suffering,
    I. Todyaso

if you’re referring to the word “crap”, you used the word 3 times on the page. wow!

  17. James Galyon Says:

This is one of my favorite video clips because I couldn’t agree more with the Rev. Dr. Piper. The “health and wealth” teaching is nothing but scubalon (see, I know Greek, therefore I don’t have to use the word ‘crap’).

It really is interesting reading the comments, Iggy. It really is. Especially from folks who are most likely in “my camp.”

BTW, I love the Unknown Comic pic.

  18. Warren Throckmorton Says:

I need to get out more; I didn’t realize using “crap” was a big controversy in the church.

    James where do you camp?

  19. itodyaso Says:

    Warren,

From his blog I would say just north of the Emergent Village!
