Recently we were overjoyed that Uber-ODM, mentor, and all around nice gal, Ingrid, from Slice of Laodicea returned to the ranks of the Sanctified and Perfected and called down the wrath of God on all who thought George Carlin was an evil, dirty-mouthed, lying, going to hell, not made in the image of God reprobate. She wrote:

Yesterday I wrote about the passing of George Carlin and his legacy of mainstreaming a lot of moral filth. My critics claimed that I only saw him as a cultural war enemy and that I was too harsh and too outspoken about his gutter humor.

She also wrote:

It is singularly fitting that what passes for Christianity today would celebrate the life and comedic routines of George Carlin. In fact, based on the language and spirit of much in the purportedly Christian blog world today, I would say that there is no better representative icon of post-Christian Christianity than George Carlin.

We here at ODM agree. Kudos to Ingrid for having the courage to point out that George Carlin was a destructive force and that Christians ought not to have ever laughed at him or his jokes. Now let’s see her take her courage one step more.

I am sad to report that the trend of Christians using the potty-mouthed humor of secular jokers has reared its ugly head again. This time from respected ODM and Extreme Theologian Chris Rosebrough. Here’s the direct quote from his blog, Extreme Theology:

Bill Cosby tells a story about a friend who tried to convince him to try cocaine by claiming that it enhances one’s personality. Cosby’s retort was classic. He asked, “Yeah, but what if you’re an ass****?”

I think the same principle applies to being “Purpose-Driven” and “finding your purpose”.

 

I cannot tell you had saddened I am by this development. Chris Rosebrough has long been a respected member of the ODM community, but he evidently did not get the memo on this one: We ODM’s are opposing all things secular, all things comedy, all things laughter, all things fun and all things filthy-language oriented. You have got to be kidding me Chris!?! I am shocked and ashamed.

Well, here’s hoping that super-gal Ingrid will demonstrate the same courage on this one that she did against that heretic imonk and the backslidden boys of CRN.info. I know I am going to be hitting Slice quite a lot in the next day or so hoping to see if she blogs against this foul-mouthed, potty-mouthed, filthy-mouthed joke of an ODM.

Wake up people! Can’t you see there’s a war going on all around us? We don’t need the George Carlin’s and Bill Cosby’s of this world to make our theological points!!! Chris, by posting this line from Cosby you have totally undermined any authority or respect you may have once had. You need to get repenting.

I write because I care. I am always struggling for you in Laodicea because I love you. To paraphrase the words of our hero Ingrid:

When I re-read [Rosebrough's] utter disregard for the well-being of [everyone] in his audience [at Extreme Theology]…I feel true indignation.”

Ingrid Schlueter has openly attacked this site for holding our fellow ODM’s to the high standard that she sets herself. In the past we here have voiced our concerns such as Ingrid’s Slide into contemplative compromise. (See links below!)

Ingrid calls this an “insult blog” yet we insult no one. In fact the high standard she accuses others for not holding we see that she does not hold. She should thank us that God put us here to set her straight from the evil and vile contemplative path she is on.

Now, we do not take offense. Ingrid needs to practise her “discernmetnalist” gift that seems to have been waining the past few months. We are glad to see she has lumped Ray Comfort into the same lump that Ravi Zacharias is in. How dare Ray speak at a Word of Faith conference! He even tries to defend himself from Ingrid of all the nerve! I mean some of those degenerates might have gotten saved!

God is wrathful and hates sinners. So it is good to us that Ingrid of Slice is beginning to see sinners who compromise their faith and risk losing the truth to those who are not saved.

Just remember we here hold the standard to the standard bearers and if they fail we will be here to point it out. And we thank Ingrid for her calling out Ray Comfort in his slide into justifying the Word of Faith Movement.

I might also quote from my “Mentor” Pastor/Teacher/Internet Saviour Ken Silva something to consider in her addressing me.

“What I wish to bring out is how easy, and I’ll argue arrogant as well, it is for people to simply disregard the teaching of someone like myself … I am very surprised to see you so quick in attempting to instruct someone like me whom Jesus has called as one of His pastor-teachers.” ~ Ken Silva

Also, Ingrid, does your pastor know you are attempting to usurp the authority of men in the pulpit like myself? Have you not read in scripture women should remain quite?

We noticed a slight up rise in hits from the attack from Ingrid yesterday. Yet, what astounds us most is that with the huge audience that Ingrid has, beards was the greater search word. Even combining all the “online discernmentalist mafia” searches beards won. Yes, Ingrid is sending us traffic yet beards is of more interest than a hit piece by Slice.

UPDATE 2: July 3rd was one of the highest days in a long time though not the highest we have had. Though we had 206 hits you can see below more people came here to read about “beards” than came here through the search engine looking for the term “Online discernmentalist Mafia” or its variations. I was suspect that all that extra traffic was from the attack and thought that on the 4th of July the attack would greatly intensify from all the readers of Slice. Yet, it seems it has not. In fact is was one of our slower days with 111 hits.

So far today July 5th the search terms do not even have Online Discernmenatalist Mafia or variants at all. It seems we are no longer under attack. Currently at 8:51 we are at 67 hits and rising.

Today

Recently I went to that apostate site CRN.info as I heard Ken Silva was teaching mightily there. I also heard that Pastor John Chisham also known as Pastorboy was there beating the holy tar out of those emerging Warrenites! I was gleeful at first until I came across an accusations by Tim Reed who stated that Pastorboy had told someone to “Take their plank and shove it.”

I was shocked!

I was shocked that an apostate like Tim Reed would rebuke someone as holy as Pastorboy! Yet, I also realized that what Pastorboy stated was unwholesome and nasty and bordered on the homoerotic!

In fact here is his full quote to Tim.

UPDATE: Pastorboy claims this was all satire, yet I will point out that he stated: “Take that plank and shove it. No really, i mean it. No satire.” He claims we are lying, yet it is obvious who really is.

 I am appalled at this sort of language. We have taken great pains as such people like Ken Silva and Steve Camp have gone far in revising our Church history to remove anything that might be crass. We love Luther, but deny any foul language or crassness that some claim as total falsehood.

I must state as some other writers here also have, that some ODM’s are losing sight of their own holy standard and becoming much too worldly. As a pastor myself I would tell my own church to leave it or defrock me if I was telling the unsaved or apostate to “Take that plank and shove it.”

Sadly John is not the only one that has stated this sort of thing, but we have given grace in the past, yet now it is sin just running amok in the ODM camp and must be dealt with! Sadly it was another emerging apostate that pointed out Chris Pajak, who sometimes writes for CRN, as stating something very similar! How sad when even apostates and heretics can so easily find sin in our own camp!

If we are to win in this Truth War of higher self righteous standards, we need to live by them.

I call that those who know John Chisham and his church call for his immediate dismissal as pastor at his church, we must keep the sinners like this out. Unless he is truly Elect then he can just repent and keep on sinning.

And John, the eye is painful enough place to have a plank, we do not need new places to shove them into.

I have used this space in the past to warn you of the dangers of a certain blog whose author purports, falsely, to be a trained discernmentalist. It is not easy to come by these skills. I have been fortunate in my young career to be trained by some of the best, including, but not limited to, Itodyaso. The illustrious IT has taught me that discernmentalism is not a fun responsibility. It carries a heavy burden because what is at stake is heavy: The truth. I have learned that the truth war is nothing to scoff at and it is certainly not about fun. People are dying all of the place because the ammunition we use in the truth war doesn’t just impact the surface like a paintball ‘bullet,’ but rather, it penetrates deeply to the source quite like Ben Gay or Preparation H.

In short, we here at ODM do not take this responsibility lightly, but reverently, soberly, and with sincere hearts.

Thus we welcome back to the fold of serious ODM’s our comrade in keyboard, Slice of Laodicea, who sometime yesterday got it right and bravely reminded us of the serious truth that Christians do not have fun–especially on Sunday mornings, especially on Father’s Day, and especially in churches we do not worship with on a regular basis, have never visited, and have not placed our membership, given a tithe or an offering, or participated in a ministry program or evangelistic call or listened to a sermon by the preacher; especially churches we judge because we have one picture sent to us by a spy. In this post, she has warned us of the dangers of staging ‘faux sumo wrestling.’ This is most important because, as we all know, faux sumo wrestling is strictly prohibited in the New Testament.

It is important that we continue showing people all around the world that what defines Christians is not childlike joy, not happiness, not celebration, not fun, not laughter but seriousness, reverence, fear, shuddering, trembling, gloom, despair and agony, Oh me!, deep dark depression, excessive misery. Thank you Slice of Laodicea for reminding us of the dangers of fun, laughter, silliness, and excessive joy. We wouldn’t want any of these things infecting the true church.

And for all the rest of you, get in line! Turn those smiles in frowns!

I haven’t been writing much lately, and I am sorry about that. Happily, life is taking on new twists and turns and me and my family have been busily looking for our first house. Not only that, but I have been engaging in a major battle of words with that fake dangoldfinch over at Life Under the Blue Sky. Goldfinch is such a fake and I think someone needs to expose him for the fake he is.

Anyhow, here’s what is eating at me today. Michael Horton, professor at Westminister Theological Seminary, author, host of the White Horse Inn, has done something that really, really frightens me. We have learned from other discernmentalists that it is a dangerous thing to use illustrations from pop culture–especially the world of film. I even learned recently that it is against the rules to quote from Dr Seuss when making a point about the Gospel. We agree! There is no place for such childish, and clearly products of the devil in our worship services.

This is why I am so torn up today. White Horse Inn is normally a very reliable resource for getting at the real, hard-core truth. Michael Horton is normally a profound thinker, theologically orthodox Gospelnator. This video episode (from May 18, Selling Jesus) of the White Horse Inn features Michael Horton opening the program with, gasp, an illustration from, I can barely say this without partially regurgitating my unfrostedstrawberry pop tarts, a Tom Cruise movie: Risky Business!

There are many of you in our sphere of influence who, like us, count on the sound expositions of the Gospel by people like Dr Horton, but if we are to do our job correctly, and faithfully, and evenhandedly, then we must call out Dr Horton on this serious transgression of ethics. This is sad, sad, sad and terribly disturbing. We simply cannot stand for Gospelizers who use illustrations from movies that are filled with gratuitous s**, exploitation of women, drug use, alcohol consumption, prostitution, public s**, violence, crime, cigarette smoking, partial nudity, dancing, secular music, and a star actor who is a Scientologist.

Now I know Horton used the illustration as a negative example, and I know this is a radio program and not a ‘church’ per se. Nevertheless, church people watch and listen to the White Horse Inn. I wonder how many hapless Christians will be interested in this film and rush right out to Blockbuster to rent it? I fear this is an example of Dr Horton slouching toward Gomorrah–using a fantastic, scintillating hook to rope people in to the story. I think he could have chosen a better film, say a Christian film like Left Behind or Facing the Giants.

One Holy Movie!

I am calling on Dr Horton to rebuke himself and to edit this videpisode of White Horse Inn to reflect his sincere repentance at this gaffe. The opening few minutes need to be excised so that this terrible illustration from a film about ‘human pleasure’, a film about ‘fleshly indulgence,’ will not be heard by the hapless Christians who cannot tell their right hands from their left feet. Dr Horton: You are hereby on notice! We will continue to warn people of your use of such illustrations and your less than holy approach to teaching people the Gospel. Repent!

I care for you in Laodicea and I want you to know that it pained me to listen to this episode of WHI knowing that I had to listen, at the beginning, to a lengthy description of this horrible film. Please write to the White Horse Inn and let them know that you do not appreciate their use of secular films to make their points, no matter how valid those points may be. These are dangerous times, and we cannot continue this sort of nonsense We need people who will abandon all such illustrations and get back to the truth. Dr Horton has clearly proved that he cannot be trusted here in Laodicea.

I hope it is just an oversight at Christian Research Net who have been true Truth Warriors extraordinaire for some time. I was surprised that even those Apostates over at CRN.(Mis)Info. can see this a mile away, that my own mentor and great Pastor/Teacher/Discernmentalist Giant/ has not seen this!

It seems that Ken Silva is trying to do damage control for Ingrid of Slice of Laodicea. We have shown here in a couple of posts already that Ingrid seems infatuated with the fires of hell themselves and is secretly pushing contemplative prayer through the back door of her own organization.

I first broke the story here with our now world famous video.

Yet is also was apparent that she was up to something some time ago at her “kinder gentler blog”.

Yet, as i dug deeper into her source I was horrified to see this paragraph.

“We rightly criticize those who engage in transcendental meditation and other mind relaxing exercises because these practices are connected with false religions, such as Buddhism and Hinduism, and have nothing to do with Scripture. Such forms of meditation focus on emptying the mind to become detached from the world and to merge with the so-called Cosmic Mind, not to attach to, listen to, and to be active for a living, personal God. I see this now as a very bold move to infiltrate the ODM’s with her hidden agenda to spread contemplative prayer within the ranks of the Truth Warriors.

I believe this started when she interviewed Doug Pagget who is a Yoga Guru Pastor in the Emerging Church under the tutorial and control of Brian McLaren. I see now that she was really opening the door for Doug to push his New Age Yoga on her listeners.

Now with this exposed we need to be more diligent. Chris Rosebrough of Extreme Theology has already gone to the dark side and is thanking Rich Warren, so anything is possible now as Warriors are falling everywhere. Like when we lost Mike Corley when he went to visit Mark Driscoll’s church Mars Hill. (Why name a church after a planet? I believe there is another story of astrological influence there!)

Now is the time to stand more firm on OUR doctrines that save. We need to cast out those who are bringing in the impure teachings to our Churches. Boycott Crosstalk America over their hidden Contemplative agenda today!

(Update: Ingrid gives the full story, yet again misses the point and opportunity to attack the cult of Rev. Moon. We also still notice that Ingrid is slipping into contemplative territory as she is quoted from the original article from the video:

I wonder if this is from the use of contemplative/meditative prayer she has promoted in the past! I am currently working on a story in my investigation on Slice’s hidden Emergent/Contemplative agenda. It will come out in a couple of days.)

Ingrid promotes the Unification church! I could not believe it. Slice of Laodicea has now gone so far as to promote Rev Moon who claims to be the second coming of Jesus Christ. CRN.info was a help (I know they are the enemy!) in that they captured this heretical abomination. Just in case Ingrid tries to take it down before she sees the oversight, there is already a full screen capture of her apostasy! Oh the shame!

I could not believe my eyes!

Just when we were winning great gains against apostates like Ravi Zacharias who refused to end the National Day of Prayer by saying, “In Jesus Name” we have Ingrid sliding lower into the pit and not taking every opportunity to show the True Jesus against the cult of Rev. Moon.

Instead she used this opportunity to promote her station!

I am saddened by this.
