Discerning The World notes: “Ok, just to let you know. My blog is going on a trip, it packed it’s bags and moved into a comfy little server room. I’m just re-decorating the furniture. All my articles have been moved across and comments moved across as well. Except the the last 2 days, there might be some that I will have to manually copy across.”
Since then Discerning the World, the great preventer of truth-decay has moved here.
Keen discernmentalists everywhere believe that it should be called DISCERNING THE WORLD FOUR. “An uber-genuine authentic blog for uber genuine authentic Christians” Still according to our research robot monkeys NOW 100% more truthful than it was in its previous incarnation (we do not insinuate or imply that DTW is emulating or replicating Jesus’ incarnation, nevertheless if they were we can assure you that it would be 100% biblical). Adjusting for accuracy using our quantum probability discerner generator we may still be off as much as 60%-70%. Any mistakes are blamed on Rob Bell.
In terms of being genuine….the site promises to be MORE
3) and Unimpeachable
We believe that only a true ODM can achieve such marvelous goals and still undermine the character of others and call it ministry. ODMs everywhere are excited for version number 4!!!

Discernmentalists have have long celebrated platonic dualism. We like to divide the world into the flesh (all that is bad), where God can’t go….and the spirit (where God is and we hope to be someday). In the end we want knowledge, accurate knowledge – you know 100% perfect doctrine….because we all know we are saved by perfect theology. For more detail:
“For example, Paul quite often writes about the ‘flesh’ and the ‘spirit’. If he held the Greek dualistic world view, Paul might mean by ‘flesh’ the lower, material side of life: hunger, lust, desire for significance, all the facets of living in the material, fallen world; a place in which God is not interested in dwelling, a place which is thus separated from His presence. And Paul might mean by ‘spirit’ the higher, spiritual side of life: the loftier pursuit of the knowledge of God and being in His presence; the place where communion and fellowship is possible in a way not possible if we are living in the material world of the flesh. This is in fact how modern evangelicalism interprets much of Paul’s writing about flesh and spirit.”
We embrace modern evangelicalism, because that is what we have always believed! Since we KNOW we are right, and we don’t NEED correction, we know what we know.
We are bothered by such statements as “For Paul, the flesh and the spirit are not two different realms of knowledge or experience, but rather two different routes by which to attain moral goodness, the highest goal of human experience.” WHY? Because it sounds TOO much like Rob Bell’s apostate-liberal-new-age video EVERYTHING IS SPIRITUAL. Indeed, we are flabbergasted by this suggestion “Therefore, the Greek separation of the spiritual and the material world, which was imported into Christianity after Paul wrote his epistles, provides an incorrect interpretive grid for understanding Paul’s writings.”
We don’t have interpretive grids, in fact we are gridless. We have the pure doctrines that we draw directly from the bible without any cultural, theological or moral biases…..
Simple purity. Rest assured.

Mark 16:14-19. They will pick up snakes and drink poison without being hurt. Acts 28:1-7 clear teaching. Solo Scriptura. The whole Bible. Be real and stop your deception. Either follow the whole Bible or leave the Christian faith. I do not want a cut and paste faith. That is no faith at all.
There are texts in the New Testament that most ignore:
The admonition to slaves to obey their masters (Ephesians 6:5, Colossians 3:22.).
The ban on marriage after divorce (Mark 10:10-12, Luke 16:18 and other places).
The belief that faith protects from snake bite: (Mark 16:14-19, Luke 10:17-19, Acts 28:1-7).
The belief that epilepsy is caused by demon possession (Matthew 17:14-18).
The belief that if an uncircumcised Christian man is circumcised, Christ will be of no benefit to him (Galatians 5:2-4)
Taking Matthew 19:12 – the castration text – literally.
As these New Testament texts are more or less ignored, it becomes easier to ignore other New Testament texts that ban women from preaching.

“There’s no case that can be made biblically for a woman preacher – period – paragraph – end of discussion.”—John MacArthur
Unless of course they partner with us in our anti-Charismatic; Cessationist and Purposeless Gospel of Reformed Cultural interpretations of the Bible:
Joni Eareckson Tada opened the second sessions of #StrangeFire with a duet with John MacArthur and a powerful testimony of her failed attempt to receive a miraculous healing at a Kathryn Kuhlman crusade. Joni explained how the Lord has worked consistently through her suffering to sanctify her, and how she wouldn’t trade that sanctifying work for any amount of walking. (See video: Here!)
More Proof* *-Sermon: A sermon is an oration or lecture by a preacher (who is usually a member of clergy). Sermons address a scriptural, theological, religious, or moral topic, usually expounding on a type of belief, law, or behavior within both past and present contexts. Elements of the sermon often include exposition, exhortation, and practical application. The act of delivering a sermon is called preaching.
A little leavening and a Slice of Laodicea later and a dose of Pyromaniacs added to the lump pointed this out to us:
Joni shared the struggle she’s had as her affliction has forced her to confront the corruption in her own heart. She has had cancer, she has severe chronic pain — just think about that for a moment — she has constant daily struggles. But in it, Joni has found a hope to hang on to that is very different than the focus of most prominent Charismatic leaders: Jesus, the Gospel, heaven. Joni shared that she and her husband Ken talk about pain being splashovers of Hell. Then what are splashovers of Heaven? Not happy days, they concluded, but finding Jesus in the splashovers of Hell.
In fact, one of the most poignant reflections Joni shared (in my words) was that a new, healthy body is not what she is most looking forward to about resurrection life. What she most looks forward to is the full healing of her heart, the final removal of its remaining corruptions and temptations. In other talks she has said that she plans to thank Jesus for her wheelchair, and for what He has taught her through it. It calls to mind Solzhenitsyn’s “Bless you, prison, for being my life.”
She noted that Jesus was never “about” healing; alluding to Mark 1, she noted that when healings threatened to take focus away from His preaching, He would move on.
The late Ken Silva of Apprising Ministries and his Christian Research Network noted that Joni was part of the Women of Faith Conference and that at another conference:
Ruth Haley Barton, a contemplative mystic, will be attending. At this conference— the Assembly of God “Believe” conference event in Orlando, Florida, August 5-9, 2013, along with Franklin Graham, Christine Caine of Hillsong, Australia, Judah Smith, and Joni Eareckson Tada, among many others.
All we have to say is why John why? Why slip into the emerging Emergent church apostasy that promotes such heretical things like God is love and God is for salvation?
