The Importance of “Biblical” Words!

March 5, 2008

Recently I had some Emergent try to tell me I had “bad” theology. He tried to explain the difference between God Sovereignty and what “God cannot” and “will not” do. He tried to explain that it is in Gods’ nature that he is not a man that God cannot lie or change His mind… but not becuase God “cannot” but becuase He “wills not to”. It is against His Nature. This is such a subtle lie as he is changing “Biblical words” to fit his own emergent agenda.

There are verses in the bible that state clearly that God “cannot lie” so I pointed them out to this arrogant heretic. He again stated that in the original language there was a slight difference between “words”.

“Paul, a servant of God, and an apostle of Jesus Christ, according to the faith of God’s elect, and the acknowledging of the truth which is after godliness; In hope of eternal life, which God, that cannot lie, promised before the world began; But hath in due times manifested his word through preaching, which is committed unto me according to the commandment of God our Saviour;” Titus 1:1-3

“That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:” Hebrews 6:18

I am sure if you looked at every translation (that is approved by us) you will see these verses translated this way faithfully using only “Biblical words.”

His argument included the word “love” as he stated that there is more than one “love” in the bible yet the English only uses the one word for love.

He has no clue.

We must use biblical words only to support the teachings of our faith. Can you imagine what would happen if we did not? I mean things like the “Trinity” or the “hypostatic union” of God would be lost! We must stick only to the English biblical words and never use words like “missional” which means that we need live everyday as a representative for Jesus. They don’t get that this is why we have missionaries and evangelists.

If we do not be careful that we do not go outside the bible for our understanding of Jesus, for if we do we may not come back with true biblical teachings. How dare these heretics challenge us true and faithful Truth Warriors on Our Holy Doctrine!

They make me sick! How dare they push man’s teachings over the Word of God!

Here is a very simple overview on how to “rightly divide” God’s Word. We can see this man knew the Word of God

Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and from Jesus Christ, the Father’s Son, will be with us in truth and love,
