Brian McLaren declares the Kingdom of God is here and now!

I just read Brian McLaren and the Gospel of Here & Now by Greg Gilbert and he points out that Brian Mclaren is preaching a Gospel that states that the Kingdom is “Here and Now”.

And I say how perverse of a Gospel is that!?! We know that the Truly Anointed Preacher/Pastor/Teacher/ of the Only True and Faithful Gospel, John MacArthur states the Kingdom is “only spiritual now and will come in the future” which is stated in the video post at CRN. Listen carefully as he carefully picks apart Brian and then sets us all straight that “the Kingdom of God is not here and now” but “in the future and only spiritual” and is all about getting people into heaven.

How dare anyone pervert the gospel and say we should live as Kingdom people here and now. These “emergents” and their sick social (we want justice) gospel that wants to feed the hungry and give water to those who thirst! They do not need clothes or food or water, they need the Gospel of the angry God of wrath who hates sinners!

 To quote MacArthur:

Men cannot understand. They cannot seek grace and salvation unless they are affected with the dread of the wrath of God that is upon them. Unless men sense they are in grave danger there’s no pressure applied to them to change.

Now, sometimes when you talk about God being a God of wrath, certain people get disturbed. And they don’t understand how God can be a God of anger and God can be a God of wrath and God can be a God of fury, a God of terror. But that’s because they don’t understand God.

Thank God men like MacArthur would never teach such a false thing as the Kingdom of God is at hand or the Kingdom of Heaven in near or worse that the Kingdom of God is within us! That all sounds like “new age” gobbledygook!

The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them,

Preach it Macarthur! He rightly points out that Jesus didn’t come to feed the hungry or take care of the poor. He didn’t care about those things! He cared about getting them saved. Why else would he have come to earth? I find it appaling at all these “Christians” who want to feed people and change the world they live it. Macarthur shows us that Jesus didn’t change the world He lived in, so how does he expect us to do it? No, we need to forget feeding people and giving them shelter and focus on the TRUTH! That is the only way.

    nator,

You are learning so fast… soon you might be as great as a discernmentalist as I am being the truly humble pastor/teacher I am. I doubt you will be greater than me as I have become already much greater than Ken Silva who mentored me by a radio interview he did on the Mike Corely show.

Seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you,

Luke 10:9 “The kingdom of God is near you…”

Matthew 4:17 “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near…”

Luke 17:21 “The kingdom of God is within you…”

All of the above stated by Jesus himself. So, I guess you believe Jesus’ message was nothing but “new age” gobbledygook”???

    blade,

Such hate and vitriol coming from you. In fact you are rather ignorant of the facts in front of you. Jesus is God and can say whatever He wants. But we are attacking the big BM himself for saying these things. If you can’t see the difference then you have no “discernment” about you at all. Maybe you need look closer at the teachings of John Macarthur who states that the Kingdom is not “here and now” but only spiritual and will come in the future. I mean that there is some REAL biblical stuff!

Now, we here all agree with Jesus but not Brian McLaren. If he states anything it is wrong because he is a heretic apostate and part of Rick Warrens Purpose Driven World.

You need to read this blog more to be more informed about which you talk.

i think the people who don’t think the kingdom has arrived is because they were part of the unconscious development of the kingdom. my parents are oblivious to heaven but a lot of my friends, who are in their 20’s already realize it. it’s ridiculously awesome and i am grateful to everyone who made it possible. but i realized that if you exist at all, you’re in heaven and everything else is just an illusion. it just so happens that heaven is on earth now because we’ve evolved to a point where we’ve earned it.
